John Robson (JR)

JR is the CEO of cell therapy manufacturing company, BioOra Limited. JR has more than 30 years of investment experience including 12 years with Merrill Lynch Investment Management in Europe, where he was an investment manager for a number of publicly traded investment funds, and as the Head of Emerging Technologies for a large banking group in Australasia.

He is actively involved in a number of biotechnology start-ups in New Zealand that were seed funded and founded by Bridgewest Ventures New Zealand where he holds an executive position. JR is a member of the Executive Council of BioTechNZ and was awarded Life Membership of the Child Cancer Foundation by Dame Patsy Reddy in 2017 for his longstanding support to children with cancer. He has been an active member with a number of other NGOs including CanTeen and the One Percent Collective Trust over the last 20 years.
